Coach Andreu

Andreu's story

Hi, my name is Andreu. I have been coaching private and group lessons for over nine years, both in Spain and the US. I have coached at some of the most competitive academies in the world. In 2017, I coached a group of elite teens from around the globe at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy, where they competed in ITF tournaments. In 2018, I led the Summer Tennis Camp at Tennis Academy Mallorca, coaching players of all ages and skill levels. Additionally, I served as the assistant coach for the St. Thomas Aquinas College Team in New York, a top 5 team in the East Region.

I have been trained and advised by top coaches like Jofre Porta, who coached Carlos Moya (former world #1) and Rafa Nadal. I have learned the drills, tips, and tricks that contributed to their success. So, what are you waiting for? Discover them for yourself! I have recently moved to the Miami area.

Andreu's Approach

My coaching style is personalized to meet the specific needs of each student. I am an engaging and motivating coach, ensuring that my students give their best effort in every lesson. In our first session, I assess the student in all areas of the game to tailor each exercise and maximize results. I prefer feeding balls by hand, a technique often overlooked in the US, which has proven to significantly enhance my students' footwork.

I focus not only on building strong fundamentals but also on improving my students' mentality and Tennis IQ by teaching advanced game tactics. Emphasizing the importance of leg movement and coordination, I incorporate numerous drills to refine both weaknesses and strengths. For advanced players, I can conduct high-intensity drills and heavy hitting sessions to challenge them further. Best tennis training in Miami.

Highlights as player

As a player, I have participated in several ITF professional tournaments in Spain. My best rankings were #313 in Spain's open category when I was 17 and among the top 15 players born in 1996. As a college player, I led my team as captain to achieve a regional ranking in the East Region for the first time in school history. I broke several school records and currently hold the record for the most singles, doubles, and combined wins (109). I also hold the single-season records for singles (17), doubles (16), and combined (33) wins. I was named to the ECC All-Conference First Team in my senior year and the Second Team in my sophomore year. Additionally, I was recognized as the MVP of the team for three consecutive years and was named Spartan Athlete of the Month in March after going 12-0. After my senior season, I was awarded the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the East Coast Conference. My highest UTR was 11.4.
